Mission

The Housing Authority of the City of South Amboy was formed in 1950 under the authority of the Local Housing Authorities Laws.  The Authority's focus is to finance, develop, package, insure, manage, regulate, control, acquire & own diverse types of housing designed to provide safe, sanitary & suitable living accommodations of any & every type & kind to all persons of low income within South Amboy, Middlesex County & NJ as required & permitted by HUD. The main office is located at 250 South Broadway, South Amboy, NJ 08879. 

Goals

South Amboy Housing Authority is a public housing agency in South Amboy, New Jersey that participates in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, and Public Housing programs. South Amboy Housing Authority serves South Amboy. South Amboy Housing Authority provides low income and section 8 housing programs. Public Housing Authorities determine eligibility and administer two different types of housing assistance programs. Section 8 Housing provides rental assistance to low-income families living in privately-owned rental properties, where Low Income housing is directly owned and operated by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
